Wild Apocalyptic Theory?

Question by Maree Disbury: Wild Apocalyptic Theory?
ok so this may sound crazy, but i have given it a lot of thought:

so there are many religions/beliefs out there that symbolise a circular movement. Cycles are everywhere in our lives, our bodies, environment heck , even our planet. so what if history is actually our future?

The story of Atlantis (lost city) is that it was a world of superior technology (kind of like what we have/are going to achieve soon). the population stopped believing in some sort of god (arent we becoming more secular?) and it was flooded and lost…what if it wasnt, but reborn and as punishment ignorant Atlanteans without any memory of the achievements they once had were forced to retrace their steps to eventually get their technology etc back only to have it removed again in an on going cycle?

also, humans dont know how we got here…we pretend to know, we try, but reality is there are no answers.

anyhow, email me, call me a psycho ( i probs am) but i think i could be on to something (or just on something…cocaine?)

Huh? Atlantis was still using rowboats according to Plato. Not really Superior compared to today, but maybe impressive in comparison to Plato’s Greece. As Plato is the one to write of Atlantis, and since it wasn’t ever mentioned that Atlantis was “secular,” as you say, maybe some pastor made that bit up as poor justification, we have to use Plato as a source for Atlantis… which means it was probably an actual island city, of which there were plenty that fit into the Atlantean description.

On December 25th we celebrated Christmas, which commemorates Jesus’ birth in the little town of Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. And when we celebrated it, we remembered how He was born in very humble circumstances: in a stable, with a feeding trough for a cradle. Almost no one paid any attention to His birth.

But Jesus’ second coming will be far different! Instead of being born in obscurity, He will come again with glory and power, accompanied by all the angels of Heaven. Jesus said, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory” (Matthew 25:31). When He comes again, His true identity as the Son of God and the King of kings will be fully revealed.

Furthermore, the Bible teaches that when He comes the whole earth will behold Him—instantly and completely. The Bible says, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him” (Revelation 1:7). For those who have believed in Him it will be a glorious day—but for those who have refused to believe in Him, it will be a day of mourning. For them it will be too late.

Yes, someday Christ will return. We can barely imagine what it will be like, for it will be far more glorious than anything we can picture. But are you ready for that day? You can be, by giving your life to Christ and becoming His follower today.
