Cocaine is a hydrochloride. As soon as it contacts the moisture in your nasal cavities, it converts to hydrochloric acid. Those red spots you see are chemical burns. Cocaine addicts wind up with deviated septum and severe sinus damage from constantly snorting acid. They also burn through their gums and teeth from brushing their teeth with the leftovers.

If that’s what it does to your nose, imagine what it does with your brain.
