Are Hallucinogenic Drugs Wildly Overrated?

Question by Rickie Bloomster: Are hallucinogenic drugs wildly overrated?
I´ve heard theories concerning the role of DMT in REM sleep and dreaming. DMT like LSD is a hallucinogenic drug that causes controlled psychotic episodes, yet when we dream we are subject to hallucinations too right? So doing DMT or LSD is like dreaming with real-life surroundings. Isn´t it pretty dumb to use LSD for something easily atainable through a good sleep schedule, i´ve heard people say that LSD enhances creativity and guess what, so does a healthy amount of sleep.

the major problem with hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD is that in more then several cases users tend to have hallucinogenic episodes years after there use of the drug…. unlike dreams lol

lots of those things about LSD (flashbacks ect) are just myths and rumors
and the people who do it prob didnt have any imagination in the first place considering they had to turn to drugs to pass time

and i consider myself to have the authority to hate, because my fiance is a ex-LSD user.
