Is It Odd to Call a Pot-Smoker a “user”?

Question by Bonini: Is it odd to call a pot-smoker a “user”?
Does anyone else find that wording strange? When I think of a “user” I think of needles and snorting, track marks, and pill popping (maybe even a pink boa). I don’t for a second envision someone smoking herb…

I’m not criticizing the previous question…I’m just asking for your perspective on the way it was said.
