Methamphetamine (meth) is actually made from pseudoephedrine – which is a common ingredients in cold and flu tables. Methamphetamine is a man-made drug.
Cocaine is made from the coca plant. A natural drug.
The affects methamphetamine and cocaine deliver are pretty much the same, except a few things. They will both make a user feel energetic, wide-awake, talkative, takes away your appetite, and make a user feel euphoria (sense of “well-being”). Cocaine also makes a user (when snorted) have a numb nose and throat – which methamphetamine doesn’t.
However, the cocaine rush generally only lasts up to 30 minutes maximum, when methamphetamine rush lasts between 4 to 12 hours. That is why cocaine is known as a “rich mans” drug, because the rush is never enough, and doesn’t last long. Some people who use cocaine will move onto crack-cocaine become the pleasure is more intense.
They’re both very dangerous drugs, rising body temperature, increasing heart beat, and increasing the risk of something like a heart attack or stroke, and can both lead to paranoia.
I personally don’t place methamphetamine and cocaine in the same category for physical danger. For me, methamphetamine, heroin and crack-cocaine come right up the top for physical danger, while cocaine, ecstasy, LSD and amphetamine come in the category below them.
