Few things you might want to keep in mind-

Firstly NEVER site wikipedia when you write a paper. And NEVER cite forums or basic articles. They are not reputable. Only uses articles that are from a reputable source like a medical association, a governmental agency, university, and so on. For example: NIH, CDC, AMA, WHO.

Secondly when you are talking about what most people think of as an “overdose” you are not using the correct term. If a person swallows a bottle of pills it is a poisoning, not an overdose.

What an overdose means is that a drug has provoked an extreme response. For example if a person is prescribed 1 mg of lorazepam, an anxiolytic, and they have problems breathing and are suffering respiratory distress that is on overdose. So the amount taken is OK, it is a very normal dose, but what happened was significant. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between a poisoning and an overdose but typically it is simple. So the term you will be using most of the time in your paper is a poisoning.

Here are some links, I am not sure what type of drugs but I have links for a few. There are from the Merck Manual, a very well respected source of information. If you look under “Toxicity or overdose” you will find your information. Also if there is a prescription medication you want to get information about type in the name of the drug followed by “prescribing information.” It is typically easy to find a PI and there will be a section about poisoning/overdose.

This is the prescribing information for MS Contin (a brand of morphine):
