Is Adderall an Addictive Drug? I Think I Might Be Addicted?
Question by Questions: Is Adderall An Addictive Drug? I Think I Might Be Addicted?
I don’t have ADD or ADHD, I’m prescribed it for intense treatment resistant depression though. It’s the only thing that actually works, whenever I take it, I don’t notice any concentration boost but I do feel awake and everything feels so much more “colorful”. Music sounds better, I like talking to people, and I just feel like I’m in a good safe place and don’t stress out like I normally do. And the comedown isn’t so bad either, I get headaches and whatnot but it’s okay. But like if I go 3 or more days without the drug, THEN I feel so sick and like nauseous, and all the “color” of the world seems to be gone, and I get so frustrated and angry I feel like shouting and stabbing myself and everyone around me. Sometimes it feels like my body is just giving up and I have no energy to even move. And I get like random pain pulses in my head, they’re only like a second long but extremely painful.
And I can’t stop thinking about suicide all the time, like I plan it all out with perfect detail and cry, and feel unstable like I just feel like there’s no hope. Like my mind is really twisted at this point, I think of really disturbing stuff I don’t even want to mention. I don’t really “crave” the drug, I just feel like absolute trash without it. Like I’m not sure if this is an addiction or just intensified depression over my already clinical level depression brought on by psychological withdrawal.
Sometimes I want to tell my doctor, I only see him every 3 months, but I’m scared he’s gonna take it away from me. Is this anything to fret over? Because I don’t have to stop taking it ever, I just wanted to see if I could.
