How Do You Know if You Are Really Off Cocaine?

Question by lazy_n_spoiled: How do you know if you are really off cocaine?
I had about a 400/wk “spending habit” . It has been a little over a month and only done it once since I “quit” and was miserable……am I done? I think so, I’m scared of what I have done to my body, the future consequences and am really sick over the money lost and stupid, desperate behavior…..started heavy in december and stopped may 6th ( with the one relapse)…what do you think?

you are never really off, as they say its one day at a time. Do not let your guard down. Good Luck

Only you can answer this question. It’s good that you got sick when relapsing. One thing to consider is why did you start? A lot of people who become addicted to substances have underlying problems and/or addictive personalities. To fully “quit” you must conquer the circumstances that made you become addicted.

Putting that aside, most people that have been addicted to a drug have the lifelong potential to relapse. Your body and mind have already built the chemical dependency and from time to time desire that substance again (usually when your vulnerable). This is the time that you must remain strong as the feeling will pass. Good luck!
