FBI Policy on Illegal Drugs? Agents Not Allowed to Have Used Any Illegal Drugs in Passes, Prior to Being Hired
Question by David: FBI policy on illegal drugs? Agents not allowed to have used any illegal drugs in passes, prior to being hired
So while looking at the requirements for being considered by the FBI, it says one of the things is you cannot have done any illegal drugs in the past (including anabolic steroids) and be hired. They will check with a Lie Detector.
Understandable, I have never done illegal drugs. However, theoretically, if I were to be in Mexico for a period of time on vacation, Anabolic steroids are not controlled in Mexico and are freely available. Does anyone have any further information if the FBI would reject you if you had used steroids legally (as in picked a random country where they are legal and done them there?)
Perhaps I would be able to answer “No” to that lie detector question and pass since I technically did not do “Illegal drugs” because I would have been somewhere like Thailand, Mexico or some place where they are legal. Would that be possible?
Should I just find a way to find out directly from the FBI via and inquiry, or does anyone here have any info on that?
Thanks for the responses. I have never wanted to do an anabolic steroid (for the legality issues). However, since 2005 when prohormones were declared illegal right along steroids, I figured I might as well just go all out and do steroids anyways since they’d both be illegal.
Good news however, I found a prohormone replacement that slipped pass the FDA ban on them and is a steroid precursor, (not a prohormone precursor) that is technically not illegal since it contains none of the controlled substances on the prohormone ban list. I’ve read nothing but good logs in it on body building forums, so assuming all goes well I wont have to touch any illegal substances (even in a place where there legal).
I would choose a best answer, but I think they’re all great, so I’ll leave that up to the readers. Even the responses that were against this were mature so I respect that (I’ve seen some yahoo answers on this subject that are not mature at all, so I thank you for that)

All a lie detector test does is measure how much you believe what you say. If you believe you did nothing illegal with all your heart, the test will not show any contradiction.
When I lived in Europe over a decade ago, I had access to pain medications that are controlled substances in the US. I will never claim I used illegal substances because where I lived, they were very legally available at any pharmacy. So there.

you are playing word games, if you have used a substance they consider controlled, it doesnt matter if it was in thailand, mexico or the moon, you have used the substance and to speak anything but the truth will disqualify you on the spot. Full dislosure is the only way. If you even think you may have lied then apply for another job.
