Why Do Some Believe That a Senator Out Trumps a Governor in Experience?

Question by Doodlebug: Why do some believe that a senator out trumps a governor in experience?
I am seriously wanting to know the answer to this as it seems so obvious to me. A Governor veto’s, manages a billion dollar budget state wide, creates bills and laws, appoints officials, creates programs, is in charge of spending. Sounds similar to a presidents duties, doesn’t it? A senator does none of these things, so what is the issue here?

A Governor does NOT create bills or laws and does NOT manage funding/spending. All of those powers are part of the legislative branch– in other words, Congress. Congress, if you don’t know, is made up of Representatives and SENATORS. The President does not make laws either! Nor does s(he) control government funding; ALL money requests must be approved by Congress.
